Rev. Dr. Kelly Wadsworth
WELCOME, PASTOR KELLY!
Sunday, January 17th:
Rev. Dr. Kelly Wadsworth confirmed as
Westminster's new pastor.
It was a long and winding road that included a pandemic, wildfires, civil unrest and more. Our Pastor Nominating Committee, chaired by the indomitable Dick Hughes, worked tirelessly through it all and on Sunday, January 17th, our pastoral candidate, Rev. Dr. Kelly Wadsworth, was confirmed by unanimous vote of the church membership.
We welcome Pastor Kelly with open arms as she prepares to join the Westminster Family!

5th Sunday - January 31, 2021
Donations to benefit Salem Dream Center
The Mission, Peace, Eco-Justice Committee is grateful for the congregation’s generous support of our 5th Sunday donation drives. Your donations have made a big difference for many non-profit organizations in our area! Thank you!
The January 31, 2021 drive is upon us and will be benefiting Salem Dream Center (SDC). SDC is an interdenominational faith based nonprofit, who with just a few exceptions, are non-proselytizing. Their mission is to love people exactly as they are without expectation, demand or requirement. They receive and support all people regardless of their belief’s, ethnicity, life choices, gender or age without exception or condition.
Their focus is on education, mentorship and food sufficiency. These three focuses are founded upon these beliefs: #1: It takes relationship to mend a broken heart, and broken lives. #2: Charity does little to help a person, and sadly it often tears away at the last fiber of self respect that a person has. #3: If we love people exactly as they are, without expectation or condition as Christ did, we can save lives one person at a time.
Donation Needs Include: Dry Good Groceries (Families arrive every Monday for food donations for their families. SDC has been serving about 500 families each month):
Flour Peanut Butter
Mesa flour Canned vegetables & fruit
Sugar Cereal & Bread
Dried pinto beans Dish & laundry soap
Canned beans
These dry good donations can be dropped off in the church narthex any weekday the month of January. There is a large gray container labeled MPEJC 5th Sunday Donations ready to be filled! For questions or to arrange for pick up, please call Katie Nelson 503-580-5631.
JOIN THE NEXT ZOOM FELLOWSHIP
When: Sunday Mornings
Time: 9:00 - 11:45 a.m
What have you been up to? With limited opportunities to see each other face to face, Zoom Fellowship is a social gathering to catch up on our lives together.
All you have to do is click at the bottom. If you do not have Zoom on your computer or tablet it will ask if you want to download the software. This usually takes seconds. Then it will ask if you want to “open zoom?” When you click on the “open zoom” button and you are in the waiting room and will be admitted by the host.
Once the room is open, you can chat with the people who are there. From 9:00 am to 10:00 am people who usually attend Contemporary Service can plan some small group time. At 10:00 am it will be Coffee Hour for the whole church. At 10:30 am Traditional Service folk can hang around to talk in a smaller group. The room will be closed 15 minutes after the Contemporary Service at 11:45 am.
In order to participate, you have to have a camera and microphone in your computer or tablet or connected to them. Webcams and external USB microphones are available for purchase on the web and delivered to your door.
