PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (USA)

"Presbyterian Mission is the national ministry arm of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the largest of the PC(USA)’s six General Assembly agencies. We joyfully partner with congregations, mid councils, worshiping communities, mission networks and many other groups to nurture and support Christ’s disciples wherever the Holy Spirit leads and the General Assembly directs us.

Presbyterian Mission’s goal is to inspire, equip and connect the church in three main areas: evangelism and discipleship, servant leader formation, and justice and reconciliation."

Matthew 25

The Matthew 25 vision builds from the theme of wholeness or peace – shalom in the Hebrew text and eirene in the Greek - and orients us toward what we are building, cultivating, and creating with God in lives and communities. We build beloved communities in part by dismantling the harm caused by racist structures.  We cultivate economic wholeness when we act to eliminate the destructive influence of poverty on people and communities. These actions can welcome abundant life, equity, and hope in our shared journey.

Covenant Network of Presbyterians

Confident in God’s hopeful future and grateful for the ever-widening welcome of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Covenant Network of Presbyterians seeks an equity still not fully realized for LGBTQIA+ people in church and society, by

  • Engaging the church to invite all of God’s children into safe and welcoming congregational spaces of affirmation, healing, dignity and purpose;

  • Educating the church to expand our welcome of LGBTQIA+ people, to affirm their gifts for ordained office, and to uphold marriage equality for all; and

  • Equipping the church to bear witness to justice through advocacy and activism at the international, national and local church levels; speaking a prophetic word in anxious and divided times; and standing with others in fighting hate and oppression against any of God’s children.

The Covenant Network of Presbyterians calls the church to bear a unified witness to generous hospitality and faithful justice.
