All Westminsterites are invited to pick up this year's fiction choice, Year of Wonders: A Novel of the Plague by Geraldine Brooks. This books follows a small English village in 1666 which is visited by the plague and which voluntarily self-quarantines to protect others. It's a "deep imaginative engagement with how people are changed by catastrophe" (The New Yorker).
Join our Westminster Reads discussion group, which will meet twice, June 22 and July 6, at 6:30 pm at the church. Pages 1-156 (through the chapter titled "Poppies of Lethe" will be discussed the first evening and the rest of the book the second evening. Sign up for the group here:

A year-long study of the New Testament:
Have you set a Bible study goal but feel a little overwhelmed? To encourage you, below is a study plan that will get you through the entire New Testament in one year. We have some excellent resources on the Adult Ed book cart in the library that can amplify your Bible study. Some books highlight a specific book of the Bible, say Hebrews; some tackle a collection of books like the Pastoral Epistles.
The best hours to access the library are from 8:30-11:00 am and 2:00 -4:00 pm on weekdays. We encourage you to browse the study resources, and cheer you on in your continuing study!
OVERVIEW OF ADULT EDUCATION EVENTS
We offer monthly or semi-monthly presentations called SOARs (Sunday Opportunities for Adult Renewal). These sessions take place on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM. They encompass a wide range of topics including biblical studies, church history, current issues, other religions, and missions. The presentations draw on expertise from Westminster members as well as guest speakers from the community.
FALL FRENZY kicks off the new school year for the adults in the congregation. It’s a 3-week Sunday evening event of small group studies or a larger educational session. This format allows for a more in-depth exploration of a topic, as well as more personal interaction with the material and other church members. See above for information on this year's events.
THE SATURDAY EXPERIENCE is a half-day mini-retreat focusing on the importance of experiencing and practicing something to learn it well. This retreat generally offers a whole-person educational opportunity with an emphasis on Christian spirituality.
LENTEN EXPLOSION is the spring’s three-week version of Fall Frenzy, to bring us into the season of Lent.
