MUSIC

Our music program includes opportunities for a variety of ages and musical tastes.

The Chancel Choir: under the direction of our Music Director, Linda McCreery, sings each Sunday morning, except during the summer months. The choir also offers special music during the Advent- Christmas season. The choir rehearses every Thursday evening at 7:00pm in the sanctuary during September through May.

The Handbell Choir: also under the direction of our Music Director, Linda McCreery, accents our worship services monthly through out the year. The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings 5:00pm-7:00pm.

Youth Music Opportunities: Grades 6-12 Solos, Ensembles, Contemporary Worship, Youth Orchestra.

Youth Handchimes: under the direction of Nikki Fennell is for young people 4^th thru 12^th grades.  This is an opportunity to learn the “art” of handchime ringing and to play in worship once or twice a year.

Ring and Sing:  Beginning in January, children in grades K-5 can enjoy a half-hour of music, 9:15-9:45a.m., every Sunday.  The first 15-20 minutes will be learning to ring handchimes or, for the younger children, color-coded "KidsPlay" bells.  The last few minutes all will gather in the theater room for fun singing to music videos.

Alternative Worship Musicians: Our alternative worship services are complemented by the gifts and talents of both staff and members of the congregation.

Drama: Members who enjoy sharing their talents through drama on an occasional basis prepare vignettes that interpret Sunday’s scripture lesson and sermon. Often presentations are offered on Maundy Thursday.

Special Music During Worship: The congregation is fortunate to enjoy many talented and gifted people. Often on Sunday morning special instrumental and vocal selections are provided by church members. This is especially true during the summer months when special musical offerings by members of the congregation are integrated on a regular basis into the worship services.
