MUSIC

Our music program includes opportunities for a variety of ages and musical tastes.

The Chancel Choir: under the direction of our Music Director, Linda McCreery, sings each Sunday morning, except during the summer months. The choir also offers special music during the Advent- Christmas season and during the Lenten and Easter seasons. The choir rehearses every Thursday evening at 7:00pm in the sanctuary during September through May.

The Handbell Choir: also under the direction of our Music Director, Linda McCreery, accents our worship services monthly through out the year. The choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings 5:00pm-7:00pm.

Youth Music Opportunities: Grades 6-12 Solos, Ensembles, Contemporary Worship, Youth Orchestra.

Youth Handchimes: under the direction of Nikki Fennell meet Sundays 11:00am for young people 4^th thru 12^th grades.  This is an opportunity to learn the “art” of handchime ringing and to play in worship once or twice a year.

The Star Choir: also under the direction of our Music Director, Linda McCreery, offers a musical opportunity for youth ages 2^nd thru 5^th grade. The choir rehearses on Sunday mornings at 9:00am September through May after the children are excused following the Children’s Moment. A musical on a Biblical theme is often performed and the congregation, family and friends are invited to attend.

Contemporary Worship Musicians: Our contemporary worship services are complemented by the gifts and talents of both staff and members of the congregation. Music for our contemporary worship services is under the direction of Mr. Tim Duffy, a member of the congregation. Rehearsals for the contemporary service occurs on Thursday evenings at 8:30pm following the Chancel Choir rehearsal.

Drama: Members who enjoy sharing their talents through drama on an occasional basis prepare vignettes that interpret Sunday’s scripture lesson and sermon. Often presentations are offered on Maundy Thursday.

Special Music During Worship: The congregation is fortunate to enjoy many talented and gifted people. Often on Sunday morning special instrumental and vocal selections are provided by church members. This is especially true during the summer months when special musical offerings by members of the congregation are integrated on a regular basis into the worship services.
