Meet Adam Grosch
Adam grew up in upstate, New York in a town near Albany called
Guilerland. He was raised in a Christian household within the
Reformed Tradition. He attended Colgate University where he majored
in economics and minored in psychology. Adam first discerned and
accepted a call into ministry at the end of his time at Colgate. It
grew out of time spent in ministry as one of the senior leaders of
University Church.
After graduating from Colgate, Adam lived and worked for a year on
the west coast in Santa Rosa California at the Sonoma County
Economic Development Board. He then attended seminary at Duke
Divinity School starting in 2004. Adam excelled academically at Duke
and was involved both in community life at the divinity school as
well as at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, where he interned and
served as part of the pastoral team.
Throughout seminary He worked in various churches in North Carolina
including: St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Mooresville United
Methodist Church and Springwood Presbyterian Church. After
graduation he was invited back to Springwood full time to act as a
pastor to the congregation while its installed pastor was on an
extended sabbatical. Some highlights of his service to these
churches include youth work, recruiting and training volunteers,
starting a small group ministry, teaching Sunday School for all
ages, leading domestic and international missions trips, pastoral
care, outreach to new members, and preaching and leading both
traditional and contemporary worship. He also worked as a chaplain
at Duke Hospital. Westminster will be his first ordained call.
On a personal level, Adam enjoys playing cards and chess. He is a
runner and has been involved in Tae Kwon Do for over 20 years where
he has taught all ages and ranks and has completed at the national
level. He holds a 4th degree black belt.
Here is Adam's comment about come to Westminster:
"I truly feel called by God to come and be in ministry with the
congregation at Westminster. I am honored to have received an
invitation to candidate from such a warm and loving church."
